We have made a simple guide to make sure you get the most time with our EVARAE pieces. Learn how to clean and care for our sustainable fabrics including linen, viscose, silk, cotton and more.

SWIM

For longevity, rinse your swimwear by hand with cold water immediately after wearing. Detergents and abrasive chemicals can cause the breakdown of colours, we recommend only rinsing with cold water and not using any detergent. Wring out gently, immediately dry flat or hang dry, making sure dark or bright coloured areas are not left wet on top of lighter parts of the costume. Do not roll up when wet or leave wet folded in a bag. Dry out of direct sunlight. If sunscreens or oils have been in contact, hand wash the item straight away. Avoid abrasive surfaces, buttons or jewellery that could catch on the swimwear when worn.

If you leave your swimwear wet in a bag or rolled up inside a towel, or folded wet, the chemicals from the pool or sea salt from the ocean will cause discolouration. Our swimwear has passed all wash tests for standard use, you must rinse after wear and leave to dry. EVARAE can’t be held liable for any discolouration due to the swimwear not being rinsed and dried after use.

ORGANIC SILK

Our 100% natural organic silk can be easily cared for, and you can maintain the high quality at home. Hand wash cold, by a dip and remove immediately method, with no scrubbing. Our silk can also be machine washed on a gentle cycle at a low temperature. Third option is dry-cleaning but try not to do this after every use. Please be careful with sunscreens on the silk as this can cause staining on lighter fabrics. Take care not to spray perfume directly onto the material and be careful with jewellery that could catch to avoid imperfections. Never spot-treat your silk. To dry your silk simply hang and air dry, you can use a white clean towel to remove excess water too.

TENCEL LYOCELL

Machine wash cold inside out or dry clean. Wash separately or with similar colours. Iron cool if needed, make sure not to touch the iron plate directly on the fabric as it can cause permanent shine. Please be careful with sunscreens on the silk as this can cause staining on lighter fabrics. be careful with jewellery that could be caught to avoid imperfections. Never spot-treat your Lyocell. To dry your TENCEL Lyocell simply hang and air dry. We recommend natural and mild laundry detergents only that have a long lasting impact on our materials.

LINEN

Made from fibres of the flax plant, here are some tips on keeping your linen beautiful for years to come. A durable material that becomes more soft with every wash and wear. Wash gently with lukewarm water, with gentle detergent. To dry your linen garment simply hang or dry flat. Linen has a natural battered look texture, that gives it a stunning draped effect. Should you wish to iron, then use a medium heat with steam. For white linen we recommend ironing both sides, and on dark linen press only on the reverse side to stay away from creating permanent shine.

ECONYL

ECONYL is a wonderful material that helps clean our waterways and repurpose waste that would otherwise end up in landfill and polluting the environment for hundreds of years before breaking down. The downside is that ECONYL still has microfibres, tiny plastic particles that are released, we recommend using a wash bag to filter and contain these to reduce microfibre release.

For longevity, rinse your swimwear by hand with cold water immediately after us. Wring out gently, dry flat and out of direct sunlight. We recommend placing your swim into a bag that reduces microfibre release, such as a GuppyFriend wash bag. Do not roll up when wet. If sunscreens or oils have been in contact, you can use a gentle shampoo to hand wash the item. Avoid abrasive surfaces or jewellery that could catch.

Within our move dance swim range we have two material types, ECONYL and ECONYL REV ECO. Our Astra Bodysuits, Luna Legging and Cleo bralette can be machine washed. We recommend placing your items into a bag that reduces microfibre release, such as a GuppyFriend wash bag. Do not roll up when wet. If sunscreens or oils have been in contact, you can use a gentle shampoo / mild detergent to hand wash the item. Avoid abrasive surfaces or jewellery that could catch.
